Wales Coach Meets Rugby Legend

Friday May 22, 2015 at 4:30pm

The UKMA's Wales Manager Barry John, met Wales Rugby Union Head Coach Warren Gatland to discuss how best to prepare a squad for International tournaments.

Warren has led the Wales Rugby Team to two Grand Slams and the British and Irish Lions to a Test series victory of Australia so Barry and UKMA Team Executive Pete Mitchell met with Warren last Friday to go over key points on preparation, man management, player downtime etc.

Both Barry and Pete were grateful to Warren for giving up his time to the meet with them, with Barry saying: "What an experience to spend time with a coaching legend! I learnt so much in such a small amount of time and cannot wait to put in practice what I learnt of Warren. Pete added “It was a fantastic meeting, and there is no doubt at all it will be of huge benefit to not just Wales, but all the teams moving forward.”

Everyone at the UKMA would like thank Lynne Cook an old colleague of Wales Team Manger Barry for arranging the meeting and of course a big thank you to Warren Gatland for giving up his valuable free time prior to the 2015 Rugby World cup to spend time with both Barry and Pete.

Let's hope the experience will fire Wales to success at this year's UK Championship.
